What is your definition of "native American''?

Question:

What is your definition of "native American''?

Five generations of my family have been born here in America since the 1880s. As far as I am concerned I am a native born American. How would I not be one?

I have European heritage, but I am not a European native. I was born in America so therefore I am Native American.

Perhaps we need a different term for what people call American Indians. How about the Ancients. Since they have been here for thousands and thousands of years.
