Question:

I have family in Jamaica who are mixed with Scottish last name Douglas. Can you find a genealogy for them?

I want to know if Scottish Douglas' think they might be related to me. The story is that the seven Douglas' brothers left Scotland and had land in Jamaica. They might have also been overseers for the British. One of the brothers had children with and Angolan slave. He left the land to those children. This Douglas would be my grandmother's grandfather. I was always puzzled as to why he would give the land to his half black children. My grandmother believes he loved her and they were married. It is obvious in our family that we are mixed with Scottish because of our light skin (one cousin we call snow white)and reddish tints in our hair. I have always been fascinated with Scotland and think it would be great if I had relatives to visit there.
