Question:

I am trying to find my Great Grandparents' burial sites in Montreal, Quebec. What is the secret?

It is pretty easy to find a cemetery census in the States. Find- A- Grave has lots of information and the GenWeb sites usually have cemetery lists.

Even in the Mount Royal Cemetery website, there is not enough information for me to determine which William Boyd is my GrGrandpa.

The same is true for a great Aunt who died in Ontario. Is there a reason for this?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There are a few secrets. The first is to find the funeral home that handled the final arrangements and call them for the information.

The second is to pull the death certificate because it lists where the body was buried.

The third is contact the church that handled the final services and ask where the person was buried after the service.

The fourth is to contact the Ontario GenWeb site for that county and see if there's a volunteer who will pull the information for you.
