Here is a clue for those who want to help which I found on a web site about the Rose last name. On a web site for Rose descants is doing DNA testing and somone who is from my part matched Group Q A desenceant of John Rose b. 1772 (m. Rhoda Crippen), is desendended from William Rose (Wilhelm Roos) of Germany b September 14 1738 and Schohaire County, New York m Elizabeth Schooolcraft, born December 25, 1738, October 30 1760 matches a descendant of Lawrence Rose(b 1787) who married Thankful Reynolds. It was a partial match which they believe shows they are cousins. That man is also descended from Lawrence Rose's son Green. He is descended from Green Rose's second wife Susan Cameron. I am desenced from Green's first wife Hanna. Who are Lawrence Rose??s parents? I saw him in Roots Web which also showed their children and Thankful Rose. This is on Mark Babbs tree on Rootsweb. A page of Lawrence Rose's daughter Martha Jane's diary has their birth and some of their death dates

I have been longtime trying to track down a Rebecca Rose born about 1760 NY, wife of Caleb Hill of Dutchess then Ulster Co, NY.

And then there is Bathea Rose born 1793 NJ.

And 2 separate Isaac Rose Hill, b 1831 and 1883, both Licking Co, OH. It seems there should be an elder Isaac I don't find, perhaps brother of William/Wilhelm.
