Question:

Were there any hospitals in the year 1780?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There may have been but it would depend upon where. I never thought about it nor have I run across that information.

In the brand-new US I am aware from things I've read that sometimes a physician had a large home and people were brought there, maybe certain rooms were kept specifically for patients.

Ancestors of mine: She went out onto the Monmouth battlefield the morning after and brought back wounded soldiers to her physician father's house. She married one of the men she nursed back to health. The implication there does suggest that some sort of hospital was kept in rooms in the home. She had been trained as a nurse in France, according to a local history.
