Do you sometimes wonder how far back your ancestry goes and what it was like for

Do you sometimes wonder how far back your ancestry goes and what it was like for them?

Sometimes I think what my family, blood relatives, were at 200 years ago then 500 years ago and even cavemen like and before that. I don't know I just find it neat how it evolves if you believe we evolved and how we started out billions of years ago and what if that just one creature was taken out and how it would completely affect the future regarding me. I was just wondering if anyone else thought this maybe not as elaborately but along those lines of thinking far back in history about ancestors and how it could of have never of happened if one of them made a mistake and how it reflects on you regarding your future and family. I know kind of deep thinking but do you often wonder the same thing?

Sometimes I end up staring at the wall/out of the window wondering what was going on exactly where I'm sitting, but 500 years ago. Then it drifts onto that i must have had ancestors that long ago, What were they doing? Did they make an impact on anybody? Am I anything like them? What secrets did they hold? Where were they? Have they ever crossed the same paths as me? I can sit all day thinking through what my ancestors were like, and what kind of impact they had on the world, if any.

Sorry, I tend to ramble a tad.
