How do ifind births deaths and marriages records online without having to pay?

How do ifind births deaths and marriages records online without having to pay?

ok, my aunt has decided she wants to chase up her family tree, she has very little information about her family, on her fathers and mothers side. we have the year of their births and deaths and their names. I have searched the internet and come up with nothing, we just cannot find them on there. I have tried ancestry.com, etc. Most of the sites i find want me to pay to view the records, i dont feel paying to look at a birth record is justified so i will not pay. those that do let you search do not have the records, its as if these people never existed, i even tried searching for my own birth and found nothing. Does anyone know of any sites that may have the records freely available? I live in the west midlands in the UK, does anybody live in this area and know where i can go to view these records? i know some libraries may have them and i am quite sure these records are available to the public on request, does anybody know how i go about getting these records?

i tried ancetry.co.uk, th people i wanted to find are not on there, not even my birth is on there, to that site i do not exist..lol. i dont want the birth or death certificates, we just want to find out if we have any other family members, and at the moment we do not know my grandads side of the family his mum, dad, if he had any borthers or sisters etc, so we need to now where abouts he was born and to whom, once we find this out the rest should come easy. I now to find my grandads birth i would have to find his death first, he was born in italy so it might be hard to find it in this country. My nan was born and bred in the west midlands so it should'nt be too hard, just none of the websites have her birth or death on them.
