My ggf immigrated from Bavaria to America. He was born in 1824 and was in the 1860 census in Blair County, PA. How do I find any family connection in Bavaria? His name was George Kirstner and he arrived with his wife Barbara.

It's built on its Bavarian heritage and their local library is full of experts on everything Bavarian. They have access to records that most libraries don't carry...because Bavarian genealogy is very specialized. Here's more on the town:
