Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Can I just say that birth ,marriages and deaths were all registered for the first time starting on July 1st 1837, through to the present day.. In answer to your question the minimum age of consent for a girl was 12 and for a boy it was 14, with parental consent, this continued until 1929 when the age was raised to 16 for both sexes, with parental consent. Up till 1969 parental consent was required until a minor attained the age of 21, when it was reduced to 18 as it remains today.
