They were married in Oct/Nov/Dec 1852 at Auckland, County Durham.

John is listed as John Benison.

If you go to this site:

and quote the following info:

Volume 10a
Page 172

then for ⣷ the General Register Office will send you a copy of the marriage certificate.

This will give the names of both their fathers.

You may then be able to trace back further in the census records.
