Where can i trace family members?

Question:

Where can i trace family members?

Im under 18
have tried the websites but wont let me as i am under 18
All i have is a name
a guess of where he lives [my dad]
and that is it. no birth date or anything.
Nobody seems to want to give me any help or assistance.
Cant look on the eletoral roll as you are not allowed to look specifically at names.
And ive looked in the phone book but the name is not there.
Can anyone help me PLEASE want to find my dad!

no i dont know anything except the name and the town..which is a big place - manchester.
And ive been on 182 and there are over 100 different people by that name.
How do i view marriage certificates?

I contacted the Salvation Army and they dont help illegitimate children .. which would be me.
Thanks anyway, does anyone else know anywhere similar to the Salvation Army?
