Question:

Was You a Lorry Driver around Christmas 1963 then I Might Be Your Son?

Wow this is a complete long shot, I am adopted and after tracing my real mother I have found out that my father was a lorry driver, doubtful he knows he has me as a son as in the 1960's as it was all hushed up.

So if around Christmas 1963 you was some kind of a lorry driver and was around the Reading area, and willy was sick without being covered then I might be your son.

I don't want any finances or anything, I just realised that if I had another or indeed an only child and I was now in my 60's then it would be really nice to know.

The only info I am willing to give out is that my mother is worked in Reading Laundry, maybe you even delivered laundry and this was a Christmas party.

IF you think it could be you then email me, complete discretion, I realise you might even have been married I am open minded and not after ruining lifes whatsoever.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Gerry, you already have located your mom, which is far more than many adoptees manage. And... unlike many adoptees, sounds like you have put some thought into some of the angles. Not all fathers are thrilled to hear they have kids they didn't know about. But the opposite can be true also. I've seen many strange things come out of genealogy. Not long ago, someone in France returned a wallet to the owner... it was lost during WW2 in France!!
Yahoo is a generalized board. You need to continue focusing on the business, the trucking angle, etc. NOT impossible they are still in business. The trick is using imagination. Maybe mom can remember names of someone she worked with?? Better if male, since the name won't have changed. IF the laundry still exists... can someone explain WHAT KIND of company would have had a truck involved? who is Willy?
Good luck, whichever turns up.
