Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Forget census data, it doesn't exist to give you the link. If they were Mexicans, establish the lines back as far as you can with the records in the civil registers. Then you'll have to switch over and start tracking them through sacramental registers. Spain kept their population records through the Catholic priest in town and until the early 20th century that continued in Mexico. The priest registered all births, marriages and deaths. Somewhere, whether at the parish level or the diocesan level, you'll find the parish sacramental registers for the 19th century for Anson TX. Make a call to the oldest parish in town and see who has them. They should know. If they don't, contact the Diocesan Archives and ask them. They WILL know. You may need to make an appointment if the archives has them...they don't open them to the general public. You usually need an appointment and someone will standby to assist you (and keep you from tearing out pages or writing in the books).
