Trail of Tears?

Cherokee Indian Tribe/Trail of Tears?

Does anyone know who the Cherokee Indian Tribe was that went down the Trail of Tears? They Possibly started @ the northern part of MO. I have been trying to trace my family history and haven't excatly known how. Thanks in advance for any information I can get.

One of you said if I wanted the benefits from being and indian I would have to prove it. I am not interested in the benefits. My mom and I have always wondered where our indian origin came from. We just didn't know how to trace it. We have become more interested in our family history after attending a Pow Wow this weekend. A very nice lady there told us a few places to start.
