Which web sites can help trace people?

I am trying to find anyone who lived in Hollybush Street London E13 in the 1930 to 1950 so that I can build a profile of my daddy who died when I was 5 years old.
Can anyone help with web sites etc. And what is the name of local newspaper so I can write to them also.
