Question:

Trying to find obituary/photo of a person?

I'm working in a Living Cemetery Walk, and putting together information about a gentleman, by the name of Landon Carlye (alternative spellings Landan, Carlisle) I know he was born in 1802 in Virgina, and died in LaPorte County Indiana. I haven't been able to find an obituary or a clear photograph of the man. Any help would be appreciated.

I took a look at Jamie's posting history there, and find she was still posting as of 2005... so I hope the email address is still good. Here is another posting from someone else, another board-

where he is named as father in law, and still alive in 1880.
IF there was a photo, I have found them in county history books, OR handed down through descendents. This is one time when it is absolutely worth while finding living persons, especially those who are already doing research on him.
