What happened to all the children at Green Acres Childrens home in the 1950-1960's?Any one have any info >>.

i would like to know if any of the children are around that were housed there. they would be middle aged now(50 thru 60's). The years would be 1950's thru early 1960's.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Buckner Home is an orphanage in the Dallas area (not far from where I live), and I have found that they have an alumni group for just this purpose. When those kids had no family in the usual sense, the others there became family.
I assume you may be talking about this Green Acres in Ohio?

Apparently it is now closed, but within recent years. You MIGHT get in touch with the person who wrote this article. I noticed on the google hits that there was at least one other person looking. (I put the name of the home in quote marks for google).

It is not clear if this was considered an orphanage in your time frame, but the techniques would be similiar. I tried to find an "orphanage" email list at rootsweb, but they did not have one. There could be other gathering points on the web.
