Question:

Do birth certificates have the mothers maiden name?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Depends on the country and the year of birth. In the early years of the US there weren't even ANY birth certificates. In the 1870s they started appearing in most states, but only with the married name of the mother, not her maiden name. Maiden names only made their way onto the birth certificates here between 1900-1920, depending on the state.
