I know that my mother had been organised to be a "war bride". She lived in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. I know that the US soldier/airman (who knows) was stationed at Amberley, near Ipswich. Arrangements had been made for her to go to the US to marry Pharris, but she chickened out and married a local man. I was born in 1947. Her name was Doris Dobbie. I have checked the US military records and could find lots of "Pharris" as both a first and last name. But I have no idea.
