Family history, where born?

Family history, where born?

Im starting to research family history on my dads side, I have got back to my grandfather, his death record (online) say he was born in 1929, but it doesnt say where.
I did get told that my dads side goes back to Germany, but if true, I dont know when this would happen.

I cant go ordering birth certificates ad I cant afford it and im not in touch with my dad, does anyone know of any good sites that could help?
