Position:Home>Genealogy> Typical Japanese names in 1500s?Question: Typical Japanese names in 1500s?(IF YOU CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO READ ALL THIS GO RIGHT DOWN TO THE BOTTOM PARAGRAPH) Alright, I'm doing a little research (NOT FOR SCHOOL) and I thought I'd go out of my way and find out some Japanese names from1300-1550s from Japan. Some of you may guess what year this is, and why I'm researching it. Basically I would like some female and male names. I heard it wasn't uncommon for someone to have over 10 names and that there was no surnames at that time. I would like a wide range of names that sound nice and have nice meanings (translations please) any websites will be accepted. Unfortunately, even through my research I couldn't find anything...Also if someone could explain the name system then, as now in Japan you have your surname before your given name correct? Anyway some cultural things about Japanese names from 1300-1550. 1 month ago 1 month ago Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: 1 month ago Also if you have any cultural information from those dates above please could you post them here? Anything would do, from politics to fruit picking. Doesn't only have to be about Japan... |
