Question:

Need to take a name off of my membership/husband deceased 1/01?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I'm not sure I understand the question, but if the issue is getting your husband's name off a list, good luck. An organization he belonged to is the easiest; they'll generally comply within a few months. Something the two of you belonged to together is harder; they may never take him off because they can't figure out how to leave you on.

But, mailing lists are the worst. My husband died in 1992 and he's still getting mail at my place even though I've moved 6 times since then. I used to contact Equifax, Transunion, etc. but that was a waste of time. Now, if I don't just toss the mail, I call the sender and explain that the group that sold them that list with Bill's name and my address has cheated them. "They could know he's dead--I've tried to tell them, but they just want to make money." That's helped some.
