Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: www.cyndislist.com is a list of genealogy resources that has been going for over 10 yrs.
I have researched (online) for over 20 yrs, and never paid a penny.
Remember that people have been researching families for hundreds of years, LONG before internet, and 20 or so years ago, when someone said "wow, that's getting hot.. bet we could make it into a business".
On the other hand, if all you want is a fast food family history (prepackaged)... you can get that too.
