Question about legalities in birth certs?

I am adopted and am tracing indian blood lineage. How do I get my birth cert changed to the bio father's name so that I can prove blood lineage? Bio father is deceased so how first could I prove relation? Can the bio mother be legally ordered to a sworn statement stating his name?

In reference to the 2 answers received, I contacted the tribe to which he belonged and they are more than willing to help w/ DNA testing and court legalities in this situation! Thank you for your help. All parties contacted see this as a very real possibility.
