Question:

Why do some people's eye colors fade as they age?

My maternal grandmother had green eyes until she was 40, as did my mother. Then they faded to a pale blue gray. I am 34 and green eyes are starting to fade a little too. My grandmother was 1/4 Choctaw (an Native American tribe) from her mother's side. Have your eyes changed color with time?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: our eye color has pigment, similiar to our skin and our hair. As we age the pigment lesses and fades out, it's all very natural.
