What information should i put my family history and how should i organize it?

I have all my information thousands of pages and now want to make my history something to pass down to my grandchildren any help on what info should go and how to put it all together?

There are so many options to choose among, from the simplest name places BMD to as complete as you want to go. One option would be a fairly simple album style with a photo where available, while you keep the main files since we know you'll keep working on 'em. When you're gone someone will take over as family historian.
