Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I'm USA & so are my ancestors for near 400 years so ancestry.com is the best for me because of the census if nothing else.

Some of ancestry.com resources are free - I don't know why ones tell others that they are not. I keep my free & public tree online there also so it shows me matches I can check out - and anyone who looks can find what I've found. The message boards are free also, I use them and similar resources at rootsweb.com.

To be truthful there are probably still early Dutch Reformed and other church records hiding from me that are on film to be found at familysearch.org
