my g/parents were cooper/welsford s but cant make connectoinsome seem to think connected to macfarlane .lang.or distin .distan.diston trying to make family tree cant find emma cooper aged 16 in 1891 no record

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Step one is to filter and focus on one thing. Presumably Emma Cooper, and finding her family. And she should be somewhere in 1891? You need to mention a country, or county/state for the best help... 1891 makes me think you are working possibly in England.
You may be unable to find her at the moment... but review what you do have in later records. Birth? from what source? When was she married and where? Do you have names and dates for her children? By looking to the later "known" stuff, it should point you to where earlier things might be found.
I assume Welsford is her husband. He needs the same focus (not even a first name to work with). Work specifically on his immediate records. While doing so, you may run into the other names (siblings maybe, grandparents).
