The last name "Venger". Does anyone know its ethnic or cultural origin? It sounds german, but I think I'm wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: W䙧ier is the Polish word for Hungarian, i.e. someone of Hungarian ethnicity. The cedilla-like diacritical mark below the first e should be pronounced like 'en'.

It's possible that the surname came from that Polish word.
