Question:

Is the surname Beharrie / Beharry an Indian one and is it common to a particular area?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It is and not so common today. If it is, its from an Indian expat who migrated about 30 yrs back and before, as the spelling is terribly anglicised. Normally used as part of the name, as in 'Rash Behari Avenue', 'Bipin Behari Bose' etc., and could also be a title for one-time landed gentry. Mostly used in Bengal a long time ago, could also be from the state of Bihar in India.
