Position:Home>Genealogy> Lewis Randle and Margaret Mitchell?

Question:

Lewis Randle and Margaret Mitchell?

I hoping one of you professional Genealogist can help with this one I'm only an amateur at best.

I have pulled the Marriage records for Lewis Randle and Margaret Mitchell from the courthouse in Troy,Miami,Ohio they were married 29 march 1846 Now we many the whole Mitchell family has no idea were they went as we can't find a birth date for Lewis . We do have a family bible that listed all of g,g,g grandpa's children but it doesn't have a birth for lewis randle Margaret Mitchell was born 23 may 1826 in Miami,Ohio possibly in Newberry. Now all of her fathers children followed him into HoneyCreek,Iowa by 1860 except Margaret and Lewis I have run across a Margaret Randle in Dodge,Wisconsin and we know that one of her sisters husbands died in Dodge, wisconsin but I just don't know tell me what is the best way to figure this out and were I should go to find these records. Or if you can figure it out.any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

check this out... the one entry in rootsweb, but it has the absolute best kind of record in my mind... a land record for 1855.

Follow the land. This is where he got it, so when did it get transferred? Can you pin down the county it FELL in, if there were boundary changes? You are watching for alternate spellings, of course. Unless both died by 1880, you should be able to pick one or both up in the census (www.familysearch.org go to search then census). Nice thing about this... it isn't the original but it does pick up soundex for wrong spellings.
