Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: No records of your parents and grandparents? They're who you ask to begin with, ask who their parents and grandparents were, full names, dates and places of births, marriages and deaths. Then you get the documents where you will learn who the parents of each were, until you've covered most of the 20th century at least.

At that point you are prepared to begin searching documents and resources for information. You will need access to census images at very least.
