Figuring Geneology percentages?

Where can I find instruct's on how to officially assign a percentage to my family's geneology. We are trying to figure out how irish we are. Any official websites I can look up?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: There are certain softwares that will do it for you...I believe RootsMagic is one of them, but it costs about $30. To be able to do that, you will need your family history traced back far enough on both sides to the origin countries. Once you have that, you should be able to easily calculate yourself....if one grandparent was Irish, then you are 1/4 Irish from that person....if one great-grandparent was Irish, then you are 1/8 Irish from that person, etc. depending on the level you need to go back to.
