Question:

Grandad was admitted to Hackwood Park, Neurological Hospital 8/3/41 - 12/4/41. How do i get access to records

He was admitted as a daily casualty on 8 Mar 41 til 12 April 41. He was in the Toronto Scottish regiment.
Ive asked the Hants records office who do not hold the hospital records, possibly cos they are Canadian records?
This is a real 'brick wall' for me and i would be very grateful for any help.
Kind regards

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You won't find medical records from that long ago. Even today you're lucky if there are hospital records from more than 30 years ago. Space is precious and saving them is limited to a given number of years. They're not kept forever because there's no compelling interest in keeping them in perpetuity. But you can probably find a synopsis of his injuries or illness if you contact the Canadian Military Archives and ask for a copy of his military service records.
