Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I checked at http://www.jewishgen.org and nobody is researching the spelling EITCHES or anything similar. When I go to ancestry.com, however, the EITCHES spelling does appear and in some cases the origin seems to be Russian and the given names Yiddish. For example, there is a Chaim and Gittel (both born in Tulchin, Ukraine/Russia) EITCHES, who emigrated from Romania to Rhode Island in 1923. These people would have been Jewish. |
