I think my dad's family was hatched.?

I am doing my family tree, and thought I was doing a great job with the help of my mother(she been doing it for 10 years now). With her help we have been able to trace my grandfathers side of the family back to the 1500's. My grandmother's side we can not find out how we are tied to the Wright brothers, I remember my Great-grandmother talking about them, but we can't find the tie in and my father's side of the family I can only get back to my grandfather & grandmother. I have tried all of the normal routes(ancestery, roots, geneology, family search, i.e.), I can't even find a census showing his parents when they were alive, and my father died in 1995, and my parents were divorced when I was about 2. I am lost as what to do now. Any ideas??

As for the Wright brothers, share what you know about that line of the family and I can use the resources of the Henry Ford Museum (which has quite an hommage to the brothers...even their house is here at the Museum/Greenfield Village) and see if we can prove or disprove that relationship to your family.
