How do I find out if a church still exists so I can search its records?

I found a baptism document in the closet that is dated 1893. The church was St. Johannes Evangelical Lutheran in Brooklyn, NY.

Hi this is the listing I found in historical churches ... You could try to call one of the other big churches and make queries on this one in particular.. it isn't listed in the white pages nor in the current list of churches so I would try to call one of the other Luthern Churches in the area.. Also I would look into land records.. It is possible that the name has changed and it is really still there Hope this helps ... Good luck
