Question:

I am looking for a Carlas Ann Black, Charles Black and Margaret Joyner-sister of Mozella Pedrick Joyner Kidd?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I found Mozella's family in the 1930 census. Her sister Margaret was a few years older. Sister Carlas must have been born after 1930. They are daughters of E H and Lucy Joyner. At the time of the census, there was also a brother named Eddie and another sister named Ellie. E. H. was an automobile mechanic at the time of the census. E. H. was born about 1895 as denoted by his age of 35 and Lucy was born about 1900 as denoted by her age of 30.

I would need a little more information to go on in order to find these girls. For instance, are they both deceased? Where were they living when they died? About when was Carlas born? When posing a question about a deceased person, it is better to give the researcher more information they can use than not enough.

Having said that, here is a little more information on Edward H. Joyner.

Actually, his age is off a little bit in the census. His date of birth given on his World War I draft card is February 18, 1897. The card was filled out on June 5, 1918 and his nearest living relative is listed as Lucy meaning that he must have been married by this time.

In the 1920 census, Edward and Lucy hadn't had any children but were living in Henderson, Vance County, North Carolina.

On his World War I draft card, it said that he did farming work for Joe H Joyner . I couldn't help but wonder if he was relation. I believe the Joe was his father, as I have found an Edward who fits in nicely with Joes family group.
