How would i correct a death certificate, my grandmother's certificate shows her fathers name wrong.?

it shows bill when his name was james,bill was a nick name.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I had that same problem. Vital Records had me send a copy of his birth certificate which they attached to her certificate. They will not correct it but will add what you have sent. It is an official document and cannot be corrected but can be added to is what I was told.
Contact vital records where you found the error and ask what they want you to do
