Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Peggy, I often use the family files at rootsweb.com to "survey" who might be searching a particular family. I did find your Mary Cloud, wife of Morris Mattson, born in the early 1700's in Chester county, PA.
I then switched over to glance through ANY Cloud families, who were associated with the same county. I found pages of entries, and there is an indication (based on the submitted files) that the Cloud family there can be traced to England, and possible Quaker lineage.
Thus, it looks to me that what you need to locate is more definitive PROOF of the parents to your Mary Cloud. Since this is so early, one of the best types of records would be if her father left a will, for instance, that lists daughter Mary, or that includes Morris Mattson as an heir (on behalf of his wife). At least one of the files seems to include reference to Mary's church affiliation.
Any submitted files are as good as the sources used to back them up. Many of the file I saw included specific references, making it easier for someone else to cross check for themself.
Good luck...
