Question:

Any Waites out there?

My family has been in this counrty since the 1630s on the Waite side starting with Richard Waite who was one of the first settlers of Watertown Mass. He came from England by the way.

This category serves all surnames in all countries. The GenForum link I gave you is exclusively for the Waite surname. There are other fourms and a mailing list for the surname. There is probably a huge mailing list for people whose ancestors got here before 1700.

If your ancestors ventured out of New England, especially to Arkansas, you've probably found them was "Wait" on many official documents.

My Farleys got to Virginia in 1623.
As Dave Barry would say, "Neener neener neener."

The Hopis have a village that has been occupied since the 1100's. We're both Johnny-come-latelies by their standard.
