i've been doing ballet for 9 years i'm going to the physiotherapist on the 21st of january for my pre-pointe assessmentWww@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It does not hurt that bad!. The only pain I feel is when I have new shoes (those boxes are really hard) or when I'm not pulling up (usually when I'm tired)!. And I've been on pointe for about a year and a half!. And I have not had one blister, bruised or bloody toe, ingrown toenail, or anything else!. So don't listen to Kara!. Doing releves over and over is always a good idea!. Do them in parallel, first, second, one footed (both sides though)!. Have you ever used a Theraband before!? They are great for strengthening and stretching!. Congratulations on going on pointe soon! It's always an exciting time in a dancer's career!. EDIT: I didn't realize I was giving the same advice as someone else!. Sorry for the repeat!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Congrats to you! I started pointe at about your age also, and I know it's a pretty big deal! Like everyone has been saying: It really doesn't hurt at all! The first times through are the most painful, though, because you don't know what to expect! Gradually, you'll get used to the feeling more and more!. Pretty soon, you'll forget it! That's great of you for stretching every day! It'll really help you! Well, I found some excellent exercises on YouTube that can help you too: http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=7O-Xt5tLo!.!.!. (can help you do great tendus needed for pointe) http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=bbDrJHItc!.!.!. (releves are also verrry important to pointe) http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=XYJoVbnKl!.!.!. http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=wa-0NRMg8!.!.!. (great stretches) If these don't work for you, talk to your physiotherapist during your assessment!. You'll do great! I'm wishing you good luck, and don't worry about a thing! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com you don't need all that stuff!.!.!.i am 11 and i just started pointe tonight and i did great! you just need balance and good ankle strength!. that's it! but i kinda did pre-pointe too!.!.!.i did it at the bar, so i used it a little, and it starts to hurt your feet after a while and the glue softens so after you go on pointe for a while, you need to air out your pointe shoes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com don't let people scare you!.!.!.it's really not that bad!.
